Yesterday I cried and cried. Here is why....
I know the pictures look bad enough, but they don't do justice to how bad it really was. There are parts that are so short it looks like she used clippers. My little girl with the beautiful, long blonde hair that everyone always complimented her on. Her beautiful hair....gone. I cried and cried. (The pregnancy probably had something to do with all the crying.) She thought it was great until she realized she couldn't just put it back on. Then Karl said, "All your beautiful princess hair is gone." She lost it. She cried and screamed. She was inconsolable.
I didn't know what to do. It was so bad. I didn't think there would be any way at all to make it look even halfway decent. So, I called a lady in my ward that does hair. Lindsey said to bring her right over. She looked at it and said she thought we would just have to go with a pixie cut. I told her to do whatever it took to make it look decent. She started cutting, and decided that she might not have to go quite as short as a pixie. She worked a miracle, and just look at my beautiful little girl...
It looks so much better than I ever could have hoped for. When you look at it closely you can still some cuts that couldn't be fixed, but Lindsey did a fantastic job of covering them up and making them blend in. So, thank you, thank you Lindsey. I don't know what I would have done without you. It looks better than I could have hoped for. It actually turned out to be a really cute haircut. So, her long beautiful hair is gone (and I'm still sad about that), but she still looks adorable.

Just tell her she looks like a little tinkerbell instead of a princess! I really think you should have left the mullet though. I do have to say, I almost cried when I saw the pictures, it must be a 3 year old right of passage to cut your own hair. I think she looks just as cute though, and it'll grow back!
Breanna did the same thing...2 weeks before she was supposed to be a flower girl in my sil's wedding! Luckily once Breanna realized that it really was gone...growing back her 'princess hair' was her goal and so she never did it again! Good luck!
O.my.goodness!!
It looks sooo cute:D
I'm glad this story had a happy ending!
My oh My! What a fun filled day that must have been for you. It actually turned out really cute! What a way to have a change though!
Oh Shari - I am so sorry. I know EXACTLY how you feel. Sometimes I am still sad that Grace cut her hair, but she likes it now, for the most part. I know the feeling of complete shock when you see it - it just makes you sick. And of course you are sick anyway so that doesn't help! It really does look cute though, I guess all little girls must do this at least once.
This is my WORST nightmare, ever!! It almost made me cry looking at the pictures, how sad! I'd cry all day, too (and I'm not pregnant). But the new haircut looks really good!
My heart just sank as I saw the first picture. But, after seeing the last ones, she looks adorable with short hair too. She looks older with it short, but still a sweetheart. It is good that it will grow back. She may have learned that once you cut hair, you can't put it back. What an experience for all of you!!

It looks VERY cute. It's just hair, right?! Kudos to Lindsey for cleaning it up really well! Maybe she learned her lesson?
Wow. She really goes all in doesn't she? I can only imagine what you were feeling! She looks DARLING with the short hair though!
that would have made me cry too...
I have to say, I am so glad that I have boys. I would have been so darn sad!
ok, I must admit...those "before" pics are pretty terrible. But Lindsey did an amazing job and I think toddlers with short hair are ADORABLE...and Mara definitely fits that! I'm sorry you had such a stressful day though!
